Masters Degree in Artificial Intelligence & Applications UK University of Strathclyde
Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence MSc, PGDip, PGCert
We currently have places available in Clearing across a range of our courses, with many of our courses available with a foundation year. We consider each application individually but as clearing entry requirements may change throughout the day as our places fill, we would recommend getting in touch with us as soon as you can to see if we can make you an offer. Our BSc Artificial Intelligence (including foundation year) course aims to prepare you for meeting this demand. You will obtain a comprehensive perspective of the current developments, the needs and the potential of AI by learning about AI models, algorithms, and systems.
This module aims to provide you with necessary skills and tips that should support you to work independently within your discipline and to successfully apply project management tools and techniques to a mini project related to your subject discipline. Year 2 of the course will build upon the solid foundations you will have laid down in Year 1. You’ll take modules from streams 1 to 5 to deepen your learning and start on two further streams studying intelligent systems and undertake a group engineering project. You will start to develop your interests which you will then begin to focus on in Year 3. In the first case, (1), supervision is led by an academic in the Department of Computing, or by a member of staff in another department at Imperial College. There may be significant industrial involvement, and these projects can range from embracing applications of AI and machine learning in industry, to cutting-edge research, whether theoretical or more practically applied.

The course includes optional support sessions provided by our Careers Service, such as Marketing Yourself delivered in Semester 1. In addition, the course includes workshops for non-technical skills, covering topics including research and study, critical-thinking and problem-solving, and Developing Effective Study Skills. Each module is delivered through a artificial intelligence engineer degree combination of lectures, practical computer laboratory work, and tutorials. Module content is also made available online in our virtual learning environment, including recorded lectures and interactive exercises. The MSc Artificial Intelligence & Applications is a conversion degree designed specifically for graduates without a computing science background.
You will create code and algorithms, make frameworks for artificial emotions and ideas, prepare data, and write clear technical documentation. You must have an understanding of machine learning toolsets and how to integrate them into bigger projects. Ensuring your machine learning engineering skills are excellent is the best way to stand out and succeed in this career. You’ll look at the development of software applications for mobile devices, with a practical focus on the Android operating system. You’ll consider and use the software development environments for currently available platforms and the typical hardware architecture of mobile devices.
This course consists of six 20-credit modules (composed of 200 hours teaching each). We place an emphasis on Activity-Led Learning, and you will be supported throughout with our comprehensive student support. If you can see your future self working in this area, this course aims to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to help drive the ongoing digital revolution. Whether you want to develop your expertise in a field you’re passionate about or get the skills you need to put your knowledge to work, discover the benefits of doing a Master’s and how it can boost your career.
In this video he talks about how work placements have helped towards his achievements while a student and his current career as a near field communications expert. Through an extensive blend of networks, mentors, societies and our on-campus startup incubator, we also support aspiring entrepreneurs looking to build their professional enterprise skills. How do I start a career in AI?
Expect most jobs in AI to require a bachelor's degree or higher. For some entry-level positions, you may only need an associate degree or no degree, but that is uncommon. Most individuals working in AI obtain undergraduate degrees in computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
This will involve designing, implementing and evaluating a substantial piece of software and documenting the research through writing a dissertation. There is increasing demand for graduates with relevant computer science and AI knowledge. To help you achieve your potential we emphasise learning as a collaborative process, with a range of student-led and real-world activities.
Do you need PhD to work in AI?
Rules are rarely written in stone.
A PhD signals that someone is likely capable of doing independent research, but there are plenty of people who don't have a PhD and do amazing work. At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is whether you can get the job done or not.
